Optronics Introduces 7EA Patternless Edger at OLA, 2004
October 13, 2004 (Charlottesville, VA) – The auto
load version of National Optronics’ 7E Patternless
Edger – the 7EA - will be introduced at the Optical
Laboratories Association in Nashville, TN. The 7EA marries
the 7E 3-Axis Patternless Drill Edger with an automated
pick and place mechanism and conveyor bay. The 7EA pick
and place technology will automatically load and unload
lenses from the tray to the edger, chuck the lens and initiate
the cycle. Each pick and place mechanism is dedicated to
one edger for error free loading and unloading. The 7E Patternless
Drill Edger is designed to meet today’s needs for
speed, accuracy, reliability and low maintenance in the
finish laboratory. The drilling angle of the 7E provides
excellent frame fit and an aesthetically pleasing product.
Fully compliant with the current OMA standard, the edger-resident
drilling database of the 7E permits adding and editing of
frame information. The 7E is a streamlined state of the
art edger with a 15” color monitor with an adjustable
hinge for multi-positioning of the viewing angle. Hole placement
is displayed for viewing and/or adjustments. With a 20 mm
diameter cutter, the 7E will edge and drill the smallest
lenses and complex shapes for the latest in rimless eyewear
fashion.
