The 7EA
automated edging system is designed with a dedicated pick
and place assembly unit for each edger. The edger’s
unique back-loading feature provides complete accessibility
to the front of the unit for both maintenance and troubleshooting.
The pick and place mechanism incorporates state-of-the
art technology from Bosch, a company known for quality
construction and a high level of accuracy. Using a pneumatic
cup, the arm picks-up the lens from its tray and places
it in the edger. Once the lens is complete, the mechanism
reverses itself, removing the lens and replacing it in
the tray before repeating the cycle. The 7EA is versatile
and can meet a given lab’s preference for loading/unloading
through either a tray stacker or a conveyor system.
Drilling:
The 7EA is also a
streamlined state of the art Patternless Edger with drilling
capability. The angle of the drill is designed to be nominally
perpendicular to the front surface of a medium base lens.
This technique provides excellent frame fit and an aesthetically
pleasing product. The 7EA can drill up to 6 holes in each
lens, in hole diameters or slot widths ranging from 1
mm to 5 mm. The edger quickly drills accurate, clean and
chatter-free holes in all plastic lenses without requiring
a bit change.
Design
Features:
The 7EA
has a 15” color flat panel LCD monitor on an adjustable
hinge for multi-positioning of the viewing angle. Hole
placement for drilled lenses is displayed for viewing
and/or adjustments. The modular design isolates the electronics
and cutter motor from the cutting chamber.
